Quasiweekend
The conference "Quasiweekend" will be held in Helsinki on December 2-3, 2005, in honour of the 70'th birthdays of Seppo Rickman and Jussi Väisälä, two distinguished experts in the field of quasiconformal and quasiregular mappings. There will be 12 lectures given by leading experts and aimed at both graduate students and researchers. The invited speakers are Mario Bonk, Jeff Cheeger, David Drasin, Juha Heinonen, Aimo Hinkkanen, Tadeusz Iwaniec, Pekka Koskela, Gaven Martin, Pertti Mattila, Martin Reimann, Peter Šemrl, and Uri Srebro. The lectures are scheduled from 9 am to 5 pm on both days. On Friday the lectures take place at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Kumpula Campus and on Saturday at Tieteiden talo building (Kirkkokatu 6) in the centre of Helsinki. There will be a conference dinner on Saturday, December 3rd, at Taidehallin Klubi. There is no conference fee (except for the dinner) but the participants are kindly asked to register by filling in the online registration form by the 22nd of November, 2005. The participants (excluding the invited speakers) are advised to arrange their accommodation by using the links given. Note: Also all Finnish participants are asked to register.
