"An intertwining-based renormalization argument for hierarchical contact processes"

Sometimes, the transition kernels P_t and Q_t of two Markov processes are related by an intertwining relation of the form P_tK=KQ_t, where K is a fixed probability kernel. In this talk, I will show how such intertwining relations can be used to set up a renormalization argument for contact processes on the hierarchical group.
